Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Gets a Muppets Makeover at Hollywood Studios

Artist concept of the Electric Mayhem rehearsing at G-Force Records in Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Get ready to rock. The Electric Mayhem has officially taken over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the details are as wild as a drum solo from Animal himself.

One night only -- and the band has gone missing

The Electric Mayhem is headlining the biggest Hollywood concert of their career. Every seat is sold. The crowd is ready. There is just one tiny problem: Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of the crew are nowhere near the stage.

Instead, they are across town at G-Force Records -- a legendary rock-and-roll recording studio that happens to be under brand-new management. (Spoiler: it is The Muppets.) With a little help from Scooter's uncle, real estate mogul J.P. Grosse, the gang has made themselves very much at home. He really does put the G in G-Force.

A courtyard with serious rock cred

The attraction's iconic guitar marquee is getting a bold new look. The Electric Mayhem's signature psychedelic style -- inspired by the classic Muppet car paint job -- covers that ruby-red guitar from top to bottom. Look for the golden key at the base, a nod to a certain far-out band leader with a very distinctive hat.

Welcome to G-Force Records

VIP pass in hand, guests step inside the recording studio to find The Electric Mayhem mid-rehearsal, cranking out "Can You Picture That?" The scene is packed with career-spanning posters, prime photo opportunities, and a whole lot of Muppet energy.

Scooter makes his Audio-Animatronics debut here -- and he is a first. Walt Disney Imagineering used motion-capture technology on the actual Scooter Muppet to build and program a figure that looks, moves, and emotes exactly like him, right down to the tiniest details. Joined by a crew of very professional penguins (studio engineers, naturally), Scooter does his best to herd the band toward the concert venue before fans lose their patience entirely.

Star-studded celebrity cameos

Sharp eyes will be rewarded. Celebrity cameos are woven throughout the experience, starting in the queue and running all the way through the merch shop. Keep an eye out for:

  • Awkwafina
  • Danny Trejo
  • Darren Criss
  • John Stamos
  • Neil Patrick Harris
  • Travis Barker
  • Yvette Nicole Brown
  • Wayne Brady
  • "Weird Al" Yankovic

Board the L.I.M.O. and hold on tight

Thanks to the latest breakthroughs from Muppets Labs, guests board a super-powered vehicle called the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object -- or L.I.M.O. -- waiting in the alleyway just behind Studio C. Zero to sixty in three... two... one.

The set list is locked

The Electric Mayhem teamed up with some of rock's biggest names to put together a lineup that does not let up from the loading zone to the final brake run.

Set list:

  • "Song 2" -- The Electric Mayhem
  • "Born to Be Wild" -- The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
  • "Love Rollercoaster" -- The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
  • "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)" -- The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
  • "Walking on Sunshine" -- The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson

Each track brings its own tempo and attitude, creating a full concert-style experience where the music does not just play -- it propels. Rumor has it the band has been working on a few bonus tracks, too.

After the ride, Disney PhotoPass Service delivers concert-style attraction photos that put guests center stage alongside The Electric Mayhem.

Merch, food, and good vibes all around

The Rock Around the Shop merch collection brings the high-energy aesthetic home, with apparel, accessories, and souvenirs inspired by the attraction. Just steps away, FOOD by Swedish Chef is rolling out a refreshed look and an updated menu full of new snacks and drinks.
