Disneyland’s New Coco Ride Will Sail Through Miguel’s Memories

Time to go un poco loco: Disneyland Resort’s all-new Coco attraction is taking shape, and its story will send families sailing straight into Miguel’s memories of the Land of the Dead.

Announced at D23 2026, the upcoming Disney California Adventure Park attraction is being developed with Pixar and will draw from both the original Coco film and the in-development Coco 2. Miguel, Dante, Héctor and more familiar faces are all part of the plan.

A Year Later, the Music Plays On

The attraction’s story picks up one year after the events of the original film. Its queue will begin in Pixar Pier, next to Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, where guests will enter a “casa museo” honoring the music of Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, Héctor Rivera.

That is a rather fitting doorway into a journey built around family, memory and the songs that refuse to leave the head—in the very best way.

Board a Boat for the Land of the Dead

After the museum visit, guests will join Miguel aboard a boat and travel through his memories of the Land of the Dead. Disney says the experience will lean into the music and emotion that made Coco such a beloved Pixar story, with fun and surprises woven into the voyage.

Rather than merely watching Miguel’s adventure unfold, families will follow along beside him—and alongside their own loved ones. Pass the tissues, but make them colorful.

A Ride for Every Generation

Disney has confirmed there will be no height requirement for the attraction, making this a journey the whole family can share. That feels especially right for a story centered on the bonds passed from one generation to the next.

Pixar and Imagineering, In the Same Frame

Imagineers are working closely with Pixar as the attraction comes together. The goal is to celebrate the pieces that make Coco sing: its characters, its music, Mexican culture and the enduring love of family.

No opening date has been announced yet, but the first ride details are already painting a lively picture: Pixar Pier, a musical museum, a boatful of memories and the Land of the Dead waiting just beyond the next bend.
