Avengers Campus Gets a 2028 Mission Date—and a Star-Studded Roster

Avengers Campus is assembling a very large next chapter. Disney California Adventure’s Marvel headquarters is expanding to double its current size, and its two headline attractions now have an official arrival year: 2028.

Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, first announced at D23 2024, are under construction now. The expanding land will also reconnect with Cars Land—because even Super Heroes need a good neighbor with four wheels.

A 2028 Arrival for Earth’s Mightiest Expansion

The two new attractions will join Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure in 2028, bringing guests into missions alongside some seriously familiar faces. Both experiences will include original performances from Marvel stars reprising their on-screen roles.

Infinity Defense: The Multiverse Has a Thanos Problem

At Avengers Infinity Defense, guests will report as new Avengers recruits for a pre-mission briefing from Ms. Marvel, portrayed by Iman Vellani. The assignment: reassemble the Avengers and stop King Thanos before the powerful villain can unleash chaos everywhere.

The attraction will bring back Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. That is not a casual roll call.

Recruits will board for an adventure combining enormous physical sets with massive media scenes, creating the sensation of racing across multiple worlds. The mission travels through Asgard, Wakanda and New York City alongside beloved heroes, with King Thanos waiting somewhere in the middle of all that multiversal trouble.

Stark Flight Lab Puts Recruits in the Spin Cycle

Stark Flight Lab takes a different route to Avenger training: two-person “gyro-kinetic pods.” Guests will roll along a track before stopping in front of a giant robot arm for a simulated flight test packed with high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man and other flying heroes.

In short, this is not a sit-still-and-watch situation. The test station sends recruits whirling through the action, ready for another spin once the flight experiment wraps.

The Lab’s A-List Is Clocking In

Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man for Stark Flight Lab, joined by Anthony Mackie as Captain America and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. Between the new flight test and the battle against King Thanos, Avengers Campus is preparing to make 2028 a particularly busy year for recruits.
