Disney Believe Takes Shape—and Three New Disney Cruise Ships Are on the Horizon

Disney Cruise Line is putting a little more wind in its sails. The Disney Believe, due to set sail in late 2027, has revealed its first big design details—right down to the characters hitching a crayon-powered ride on the stern.

That is not the only fleet news making waves. Disney Cruise Line also shared an early peek at three ships in an entirely new class, scheduled to debut in 2029.

A Grand Hall Ready for New Horizons

During the Horizons: D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, Claire Weiss, Portfolio Executive Creative Director, shared a first look at the Disney Believe’s Grand Hall, exterior artwork and character sculpture models.

Like the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, the Disney Believe will have a Grand Hall at its center. This time, the gathering space draws its spirit of exploration from Disney Animation’s Moana films.

A bronze statue of Moana, Pua and Heihei will stand at the heart of the venue, looking toward the horizon. The design also takes cues from the South Pacific setting of the films, with artisanal Polynesian finishes honoring cultural traditions from the region.

Woody, Buzz and a Very Large Crayon

Every new Disney Cruise Line ship receives its own signature character artwork, and the Disney Believe is leaning delightfully into playtime. Larger-than-life sculptures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will appear on the stern, working together to write the ship’s name across the back of the vessel with oversized yellow crayons.

Rather than the fleet’s familiar looping calligraphy, the name will use playful block lettering inspired by the Toy Story films. Infinity, crayons and beyond.

A Sprinkle of Pixie Dust at the Bow

At the Disney Believe’s bow, a hand-painted filigree will feature Tinker Bell as she appeared in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 1953 classic Peter Pan. Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook and other characters from the film will appear as silhouettes flying through the swirling design.

The ship’s stories and spaces will draw from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid. Together, they are tied to the ship’s central idea: belief in magic, family, nature and oneself.

Three More Ships Enter the Chat

Looking further ahead, Disney Cruise Line previewed an entirely new class of three ships set to debut in 2029. Disney first announced the fleet expansion at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa in 2024, with plans to grow to 13 ships in the coming years.

The Disney Believe will be the fourth ship in the Wish class. After that, these three new vessels will launch a separate class positioned between Disney Cruise Line’s classic ships and its newer ships in size—larger than the Disney Wonder, but smaller than the Disney Wish.

Many details remain tucked safely in the treasure chest for now, but that middle-ground size gives Disney Cruise Line more flexibility for future itineraries, experiences and destinations around the world. The fleet’s next chapter is already gathering speed.
