Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas Joins the Icon Class Fleet
A New Legend Sets Sail
Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed its newest Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas, to the fleet. After nearly two years of construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, the third ship in the Icon Class lineup is ready for its grand debut this summer -- and it promises to be one for the record books.
The handover was celebrated with more than 1,200 crew members and partners at the shipyard, with remarks from Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley, and Meyer Turku CEO Casimir Lindholm. The ceremony honored the thousands of engineers, designers, architects, and crew members who brought Legend to life.
Where Legend of the Seas Is Sailing
Legend of the Seas officially sets sail on July 4, 2026, with 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries departing from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. Come November, the ship heads to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to offer 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean sailings -- with every voyage including a stop at the much-loved Perfect Day at CocoCay.
28 Dining Options and Counting
Legend takes the crown for the most dining options at sea, with 28 choices on board. New additions include Hollywoodland Supper Club, a multi-course dinner inspired by old Hollywood glamour; Royal Railway -- Legend Station, a five-course immersive train dining journey through the Silk Routes; and AquaDome Market, an all-inclusive food hall featuring five unique concepts plus a new juice and smoothie bar for the wellness-minded crowd.
Entertainment for Every Member of the Family
From stage to ice to open water, Legend's entertainment lineup has something for everyone. Guests can catch Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," America's Got Talent LIVE, the AquaTheater's high-flying "Shockwave," and Absolute Zero's dazzling ice show "Fusion."
Pool Decks, Thrills, and Everything Between
Seven pools make Legend a water lover's dream. Royal Bay holds the title of the largest pool at sea, while Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay offer dedicated splash zones for little ones in the Surfside family neighborhood. Adults can escape to The Hideaway or the Swim & Tonic swim-up bar for a little peace and quiet.
Thrill-seekers will want to head straight for Crown's Edge -- a part-skywalk, part-zip line experience 154 feet above the ocean. The adventure continues with Category 6 waterpark, the FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing at Adrenaline Peak, and a brand-new mini golf course called Lost Dunes.
Signature Icon Class Features
Legend carries forward the beloved elements that made Icon Class ships a hit, including the Royal Promenade's floor-to-ceiling ocean views, the Pearl (the world's largest kinetic art sculpture), and the open-air Central Park, lined with more than 30,500 live plants, dining options, live music, and grab-and-go windows for sushi, champagne, and sparkling wine.
Accommodations for Every Travel Style
Whether traveling as a family or flying solo, Legend has a stateroom for every type of guest. Options range from the exclusive Suite Neighborhood to the redesigned three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse, which features a private slide, dedicated entertainment spaces, and enough room for the whole crew.
Built With the Future in Mind
Legend of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean's fourth LNG-powered ship, continuing the brand's commitment to more sustainable cruising. The ship incorporates waste heat recovery systems, shore power connection, and a range of other environmental programs -- all part of Royal Caribbean Group's goal to introduce a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.
