Two New Ships Join Lindblad’s Galápagos Fleet: Meet National Geographic Delfina and Gemini
In a heartfelt ceremony steeped in tradition and connection, National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions welcomed two new vessels to its Galápagos fleet—National Geographic Delfina and National Geographic Gemini. The event took place in the scenic waters of Academy Bay, bringing together expedition leaders, shipboard crew, honored guests, and Galápagos locals to celebrate the christening of these purpose-built exploration ships.
Lindblad Expeditions, which led the first non-scientific international voyage to the Galápagos in 1967, has spent nearly six decades cultivating strong relationships with local communities and conservation efforts. This ongoing partnership has fueled more than 100 projects dedicated to environmental stewardship and cultural preservation in the region.
National Geographic Delfina: Intimate Luxury for Families and Small Groups
Measuring 98 feet in length, the sleek National Geographic Delfina is a modern catamaran designed for immersive, small-group exploration. With just eight staterooms—half featuring private balconies—the ship hosts up to 16 guests in a cozy, upscale setting. Guests can take in sweeping ocean views from the open-air Observation Deck, dine under the stars, and explore the islands with tools like Zodiacs, paddleboards, and snorkeling gear—all guided by seasoned expedition experts.
National Geographic Gemini: Built for Big Discoveries
Crafted for comfort and exploration, National Geographic Gemini accommodates 48 guests across 28 ocean-view cabins, including suites with private balconies. The ship features thoughtful amenities such as a windowed fitness center, a rejuvenating spa, and a whirlpool hot tub with panoramic views. The outdoor café offers open-air dining, while a dedicated Ecuadorian and Galápagos crew enhances the onboard experience. Outfitted with kayaks, paddleboards, Zodiacs, and more, Gemini is tailor-made for in-depth discovery of these legendary islands.
Now officially part of the Lindblad Galápagos fleet, Delfina and Gemini promise elevated, eco-conscious adventures in one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring destinations.
