Magic Kingdom’s Villains Land Reveals Its Wickedly Detailed Story
The fairest land of them all is taking a delightfully darker turn. Disney has revealed fresh details about Villains Land, the upcoming Magic Kingdom expansion where poisoned wishes, towering villain lairs and a little delicious trouble await beyond the safe side of the forest.
Inspired by classic Walt Disney Animation Studios characters, Villains Land will tell a completely original story. The result is not simply a roll call of rogues—it is a new fairytale where the villains have found a forest worth fighting over.

A Forest Where Wishes Went Very Wrong
Every good fairytale has a moment when the path gets a little too quiet and the woods start looking suspicious. In Villains Land, that path leads to a Wishing Well that has been torn apart by an evil wish.
Rather than spreading the usual sweet-and-sparkly sort of wishful energy, the broken Well has poisoned the forest with dark magic. One by one, Disney Villains have arrived to claim what remains of its power, building grand fortresses and gleaming palaces shaped by their own very particular tastes in real estate.
Those villainous hideouts will hold treats, trinkets and other temptations, along with shops and restaurants. Disney has compared the land’s size and scale to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, leaving plenty of room to wander, snoop and perhaps reconsider touching any suspiciously glowing objects.

Maleficent’s Mountain Calls
Villains Land will have two major attractions, starting with a coaster starring Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil herself. The ride will send guests racing through enchanted briar surrounding her frightening mountaintop fortress.
Disney says the coaster will include elements never previously attempted on similar attractions, making this one a particularly ambitious invitation from Maleficent. Bravery may be useful. A healthy respect for spinning wheels probably will not hurt either.

Through the Magic Mirror
The second headline attraction takes a darker, more mysterious route. This dark ride will be hosted by the Magic Mirror and bring together an array of Disney Villains.
The journey begins in the catacombs beneath the Evil Queen’s pristine palace, where the Mirror is kept. After finding him, guests will be transported into his mystical Mirror Realm—a place on the other side of the glass where countless villains appear through a blend of special effects and physical sets.
A Bigger Stage for Disney’s Baddest
Villains Land is being built to feel connected to Magic Kingdom’s wider storytelling while giving its famously wicked residents an expansive corner of the park to call their own. Between the corrupted forest, two major rides, villain-built palaces and plenty of places to browse and dine, this is one fairytale that happily skips the tidy ending.
