Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Arrives at Disneyland: What to Know

Entrance to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland's Bayou Country, featuring a rustic log flume ride with lush greenery, playful critter statues, and Tiana's Foods water tower in the background.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on November 15, 2024, at Disneyland Resort, bringing a delightful new attraction inspired by The Princess and the Frog. Here’s everything you need to know for an exciting visit, from must-know tips to answers to common questions.

A Perfect First Thrill Ride for Kids

Nestled in the newly named Bayou Country within Disneyland Park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a whimsical, family-friendly water ride. During the journey, guests will encounter beloved characters like Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis the alligator, and many new friends, all set against a lively storyline and catchy music. This engaging experience makes it an ideal “big kid ride” for younger visitors.

For groups with children under the 40-inch height requirement, the Rider Switch feature is available. This complimentary service allows adult guests to take turns enjoying the attraction.

Storytelling Begins in the Queue

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continues the story from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, following Tiana’s preparations for a unique Mardi Gras celebration honoring her employee-owned business, Tiana’s Foods. During the ride, guests join Tiana on a search for the missing ingredient for the party—a jazz band!

The storytelling begins even before boarding, with the attraction’s queue featuring mementos from Tiana’s family, newspaper clippings, and the family gumbo recipe. Outside, the Tiana’s Foods truck displays a creative touch: a missing license plate used as a musical instrument by a critter.

Prepare to Get Wet!

The adventure includes twists, turns, and a thrilling 50-foot drop that may leave riders with a splash. For those wanting to keep items dry, lockers are available on Main Street, U.S.A. Alternatively, items can be kept with a non-riding party member or stored in a resealable bag.

Ponchos and themed waterproof accessories, like phone pouches and souvenir towels, are also available at Louis’ Critter Club in Bayou Country.

How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Opening Days

To experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, guests must join a complimentary virtual queue through the Disneyland app. The virtual queue opens twice daily, at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. PT, and there will be no standby line during the initial opening period.

For faster access, guests can book a Lightning Lane entry through the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, subject to availability.

Capture Memories with Disney PhotoPass

As guests plunge down the ride’s iconic drop, they can smile for a keepsake photo! Complimentary digital downloads of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure photos are available through Disney PhotoPass. For more photo options, both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and PhotoPass+ One Day packages include unlimited digital downloads from the entire day.

Tiana-Themed Merchandise for All Ages

Guests can take home a piece of the adventure with exclusive Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise, including apparel, home décor, and light-up firefly accessories. Merchandise will be available starting November 13 at Louis’ Critter Club. Starcade in Tomorrowland will also carry themed items on opening day, November 15. Additional merchandise will be available at Ray’s Berets in Bayou Country beginning November 21.

For unique New Orleans-themed treasures, Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets offers a curated selection of Princess Tiana items and more.

Beignets and Bayou-Inspired Dining Options

The enticing aroma of fresh beignets in the attraction’s queue leads guests to Tiana’s Palace in New Orleans Square. Here, guests can enjoy specialty strawberry beignets, gumbo (including a plant-based option), and a Muffuletta salad. Mickey-shaped beignets are also available nearby at the Mint Julep Bar.

For savory fare, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country serves up house-smoked meats, sandwiches, and plant-based corn ribs. Guests can use the Disneyland app to mobile order food and beverages from Tiana’s Palace, Mint Julep Bar, and other nearby dining spots. It’s a good idea to place orders early for preferred meal times.

Get ready to immerse yourself in this thrilling, music-filled adventure—Tiana’s Bayou Adventure awaits!
