Fresh Magic at Port Orleans French Quarter: What’s New at This Disney Favorite
Step Into the Spirit of New Orleans at Port Orleans French Quarter
Walt Disney World Resort boasts over 25 uniquely themed resort hotels, and one of the most beloved is Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter. Nestled in lush greenery and wrapped in vibrant colors, this resort channels the energy of New Orleans with its lively ambiance and charming architecture.
Now, with more than 1,000 refurbished rooms complete, guests can soak in even more festive flair with every stay.
Charming Room Updates Inspired by The Big Easy
The newly refreshed rooms dazzle with colorful fabrics and intricate patterns inspired by the soulful city of New Orleans. Guests will spot playful nods to Mardi Gras, with purple, gold, and green accents bringing celebration to every corner.

New artwork showcases favorites from The Princess and the Frog—Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Charlotte La Bouff—all decked out in Mardi Gras splendor, parading through the Quarter in true Disney style.
Keep an eye out for subtle magical details like Tiana’s tiara, jazz instruments, and a mosaic pattern above the beds. Bathrooms have also been upgraded for comfort and convenience, with spacious counters and ample storage perfect for pre-park prep.
New Orleans Vibes Inside and Out
The outdoor spaces have received a festive facelift too. The Doubloon Lagoon pool and Mardi Grogs pool bar now feature fresh, airy blues, black-and-white tile work, and elegant wrought iron touches—blending Big Easy charm with a relaxed poolside feel.
As Diane Petit, General Manager at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, shares, “These enhancements bring the story of New Orleans to life in exciting new ways.”
So Much More to Explore
Beyond the refreshed rooms, the resort offers endless fun. Slide down the Scales sea serpent waterslide, catch a movie under the stars, or listen to smooth jazz at Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge.
Guests can stroll the scenic Sassagoula River, rent bikes, or float over to Disney Springs by boat. And of course, no visit is complete without savoring those famous Mickey-shaped beignets at Scat Cat’s Club – Café.

With the arrival of Cool Kid Summer from May 27 to September 1, families can dive into special activities, exciting offers, and Disney magic at every turn.
