Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort 2026: Everything You Need to Know

Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Halloween costumes on Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland, with a giant glowing Mickey pumpkin behind them.

Halloween season at Disneyland Resort is practically a holiday of its own, and the 2026 lineup is bringing the eerie, the enchanting, and the downright delicious. Here are the key dates to mark on the calendar:

  • Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort: Aug. 21 - Oct. 31, 2026
  • Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park: Aug. 21 - Nov. 2, 2026
  • Oogie Boogie Bash: Select nights Aug. 18 - Oct. 31, 2026
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort

Fall festivities kick off in late August, so there is no need to wait for the leaves to change. Halloween Time runs Aug. 21 through Oct. 31, 2026, and it is packed with spooky-season energy from day one.

Before the haunting begins, guests can catch the "Paint the Night" parade and "Wondrous Journeys" in Disneyland Park from Aug. 10-20, and "World of Color - ONE" returns to California Adventure starting Aug. 10 and running through the Halloween season.

Character Outfits, Pumpkin Decor and Halloween Fun at Disneyland Park

Mickey, Minnie and the gang will show up to Town Square in brand-new seasonal attire, think harlequin motifs, frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling details in orange, yellow and black.

Jack Skellington is back at the Haunted Mansion for Haunted Mansion Holiday, complete with a brand-new gingerbread house design in the ballroom and familiar faces like Sally, Zero and Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

Strike the perfect fall photo pose in front of the Halloween Tree in Frontierland or hunt for Disney-inspired pumpkin carvings at the Main Street Pumpkin Festival. New this year, look for a Star Wars-themed addition to the pumpkin ring around the Partners Statue, featuring Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon.

Each evening, the "Halloween Screams" nighttime spectacular lights up Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., "it's a small world" and the Rivers of America with colorful villain projections. On select nights, fireworks join the fun.

For a deeper dive into the spooky storytelling, Disney's Happiest Haunts Guided Tour is available at an additional cost with valid theme park admission.

Halloween Rides and Family-Friendly Entertainment at California Adventure

Disney California Adventure gets its own haunted makeover, starting with Oogie Boogie silhouetted against a full moon, a "swarm" of bats bursting from Carthay Circle Restaurant and the Headless Horseman statue standing guard on Buena Vista Street.

Cars Land transforms into Radiator Screams, complete with "car-achnids," a "pump-kin" patch and residents in their best "car-stumes." Spin through the season on Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween, and watch Cars Land come alive each evening during the neon-lit "Sha-BOO" moment.

Starting in the late afternoon, Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark takes over Avengers Campus, where the mission is to help Rocket distract monsters and save Groot. Expect a few surprising twists along the way.

Little ones will love "Mickey's Trick and Treat" at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land, a bubbly, dance-filled celebration with Mickey and friends, beginning Aug. 18.

Halloween Food and More Mischief Throughout Disneyland Resort

Treats, merchandise and autumnal touches will appear across Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Fan favorites returning this fall include the Oogie Boogie Lemonade from Smokejumpers Grill and Heatwave Pizza from Alien Pizza Planet. The full food and beverage lineup from Disney Eats will be revealed closer to the season, but expect a seriously impressive spread of pumpkin treats and monster-worthy eats.

Halloween Decor, Character Dining and Activities at the Hotels

All the hotels of the Disneyland Resort are joining the spooky spirit, with all-new Monsters, Inc.-inspired decor at Pixar Place Hotel and Haunted Mansion touches at Disneyland Hotel. The culinary teams are also crafting show-stopping confection displays at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel.

Seasonal character dining reservations will open later this summer, so keep an eye out for availability. Here is what to look forward to:

  • Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian: Mickey's Autumn Adventures for breakfast and brunch, and Clarabelle's Enchanted Halloween Dinner in the evenings
  • Disneyland Hotel: Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates Halloween throughout the day
  • Broken Spell Lounge: A Halloween-themed cocktail menu for guests 21 and over at Disneyland Hotel

For an additional cost, Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney's Grand Californian offers Halloween-inspired hair, makeup and nail looks, plus seasonal treatments like the Wicked to the Core foot treatment.

Halloween Movies, Music and More in the Downtown Disney District

The Downtown Disney District gets into the spirit with autumnal decor, themed eats and seasonal shopping. The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn will host select movie nights screening beloved fall films, along with live musical performances throughout the season.

Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit

Hunt for uniquely designed Disney pumpkins hidden throughout Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney with Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit. Grab a special activity map from resort retail locations, complete the search and redeem it for a keepsake prize. Separate park admission is required.

Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park

Celebrate family, memory and the spirit of Dia de los Muertos with a nod to Pixar's "Coco" during Plaza de la Familia, running Aug. 21 through Nov. 2, 2026.

Entertainment Inspired by Dia de los Muertos

"The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!" brings beloved songs like "Remember Me" to life through a traveling troupe of storytellers. Live mariachi music fills the Paradise Garden Bandstand, and guests can take in the marigold arch, calaca statues and a memory wall to honor loved ones in Paradise Gardens Park.

Food and Beverage Featuring Mexican Flavors

Paradise Garden Grill will serve seasonal specialties, including the returning Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions and a fried egg served with chips. The full Foodie Guide is coming soon.

The "Coco"-inspired merchandise collection includes a hoodie, t-shirt and mug, all featuring the film's vibrant colors and motifs.

Dia de los Muertos-inspired decor will also appear in Disneyland near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, with catrina and calaca figurines, colorful marigolds and traditional ofrenda items.

Oogie Boogie Bash: A Disney Halloween Party

The separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash returns on select nights from Aug. 18 through Oct. 31. This after-hours event runs 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is open to all ages. Admission includes entry to California Adventure three hours before the party starts, plus unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from the event.

New Street Party, Rare Characters and Trick-or-Treating

New this year, "Madame Leota's Swinging Wake - A Haunted Mansion Street Party" takes over the streets of California Adventure. Expect a séance-filled celebration, ghostly dancing and ghoulish fun as Madame Leota summons all 999 happy haunts.

For an enhanced experience, the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party offers premium viewing of the street party alongside themed treats inspired by "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas." Reservations open later this summer.

Throughout the evening, rare Disney villains and costumed characters appear across California Adventure. Treat trails and themed bites are part of the party, and Villains Grove transforms Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into an immersive, villain-inspired world featuring the Queen of Hearts, Dr. Facilier and more.

At select times, Ichabod Crane races through the park with the Headless Horseman hot on his heels.
