2026 Disneyland Halloween Characters: Where the Spooky Stars Appear
Halloween Time is sending a parade of familiar faces through Disneyland Resort—some sweet, some spooky and some delightfully wicked. From Mickey Mouse’s fresh seasonal look to Jack Skellington in New Orleans Square, character hunters have plenty of sightings to add to the October agenda.
Halloween Time runs from August 21 through October 31, 2026. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Plaza de la Familia begins August 21 and continues through November 2. Character appearances, locations and times may change, so the Disneyland app is the best place to check the day’s schedule once inside the parks.
California Adventure Gets Its Costume Party Started
Buena Vista Street sets the fall mood from the entrance gates to Carthay Circle Restaurant, with seasonal décor, eerie music and the Headless Horseman statue near Elias & Co. Mickey and friends may be found here wearing their Halloween best: Mickey as a magician, Minnie in a flapper dress, Donald in devilish attire, Daisy as a witch and Goofy as a scarecrow.

Cars Land puts its own four-wheeled spin on the season during Radiator Screams. Along with colorful lights, Haul-O-Ween décor and the seasonal ride overlays on Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz Ramirez and Red the Fire Truck may appear in creative car-stumes. Seasonal bites named in the celebration include Vietnamese Coffee with Ube Sweet Cream Foam, a Birria Potato and Taro Bread Pudding.

A Treat in Hollywood Land—and a Coco Celebration
In Hollywood Land, “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” brings Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy to the Disney Theater for a Halloween costume party. This interactive stage show mixes a not-so-scary story with two original Halloween songs, video projections, special effects and bubbles. A friendly fright level, with bubbles included? That is a solid seasonal equation.
Paradise Gardens Park joins the festivities with Plaza de la Familia, inspired by the spirit of Día de los Muertos. From August 21 through November 2, live entertainment from “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” fills the area with music and joy.
New Looks for the Main Street Crew
At Disneyland Park, Mickey, Minnie and their pals are stepping out in new Halloween-themed attire with harlequin motifs, frilled collars and cuffs, plus swirling confection details in orange, yellow and black. Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A., is the prime stop for Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Clarabelle Cow and Chip ‘n’ Dale.

For a more pumpkin-king-adjacent encounter, Jack Skellington and Sally may greet visitors in the Royal Courtyard in New Orleans Square. Near the “Partners” statue across from Sleeping Beauty Castle, character pumpkins include Buzz Lightyear, Roger Rabbit and a brand-new Chewbacca pumpkin—an especially fitting photo stop for Halloween family pictures.
Other Disney characters may appear throughout Disneyland Park, including Gaston, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella, The Queen and the Queen of Hearts. Villain fans may want to keep those cameras charged; this is not a lineup known for subtle entrances.
Character Dining Keeps the Fall Fun Going
The Halloween character trail wanders beyond the park gates and into the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. At the Disneyland Hotel, Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween! runs August 21 through October 31, with Goofy, Pluto, Minnie Mouse and Chip ‘n’ Dale appearing in Halloween attire amid fall décor, meals and napkin-waving fun.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has two seasonal Storytellers Cafe experiences. Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast & Brunch runs from August 21 through November 15, where Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale appear in festive attire alongside Mickey waffles and custom-made omelets.
When evening arrives, Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner takes over from August 21 through October 31. Clarabelle Cow, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto are among the woodland pals expected to stop by in Halloween attire. Advanced reservations for all character dining experiences are highly recommended.

More Than a Few Things Go Bump in the Park
Characters are only part of Disneyland Resort’s Halloween lineup. Haunted Mansion Holiday returns with its seasonal ride overlay, while limited-time Halloween merchandise, specialty snacks and returning favorite flavors round out the resort-wide celebration. The only real trick is deciding where to start.
