Sneak Peek of Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

A modern resort building with a tropical landscape, palm trees, and a pool, illuminated by sunset glow near a calm water body.

The upcoming Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is set to offer guests a captivating storytelling experience that celebrates the essence of Polynesia.

Anticipated to open in December 2024, the proposed 10-story tower, situated by the Seven Seas Lagoon, will immerse visitors in a narrative that brings to life the spirit of Polynesia, the wonders of the natural world, and the enchantment of Disney.

Perched along the scenic shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will be conveniently close to the Disney Monorail, making it an ideal hub for exploring Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT.

Originally, the concept designs for Disney’s Polynesian Resort featured a prominent tower at its core. With the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the vision conceived by Disney Imagineers many years ago will finally come to fruition, while honoring the vibrant culture of the Polynesian Islands.

Upon arrival at Island Tower, guests will be welcomed by distinctive traditional Polynesian tattoo designs adorning the exterior, including a stunning Manta Ray that symbolizes freedom, protection, and grace.

Inside the lobby, visitors will be greeted by a ceiling panel installation inspired by various Polynesian Islands, showcasing the indigenous wildlife of each location. Each animal holds significant cultural value and embodies the core principles cherished by the people of Polynesia.

Walt Disney Imagineering has collaborated with over a dozen artists from around the world to create unique artworks that will be showcased throughout the resort. Ranging from preserved moss walls to sculptures crafted from recycled fishing nets, each piece will reflect the spirit of conservation and encapsulate the rich culture of Polynesia.

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will offer a diverse range of accommodations, catering to groups of two to nine guests, including duo studios, spacious one- and two-bedroom villas, and brand-new two-bedroom penthouse villas. Starting on June 6, all guests will be able to make reservations.
