New Character Outfits at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale are getting a brand-new look for their upcoming visit to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! Bahamian fashion designer, Theodore Elyett, has worked tirelessly to create these adorable outfits that beautifully capture the vibrant and lively spirit of the Bahamian tradition, Junkanoo.
Theodore has incorporated traditional Junkanoo-style elements into all eight outfits, including gorgeous fringe accents. Look closely, and you'll spot it on Goofy's vest! The vacation outfits are also inspired by the beautiful Bahamian islands, with ocean waves and sun rays featured prominently in Donald Duck and Chip and Dale's looks.
Theodore explains, "I envisioned creating a collection that not only highlighted Bahamian culture but one that also allowed Mickey and his pals to look and feel as though they were comfortably on vacation, island style. 'Junkanoo Fun in the Sun' is an exclusive lineup of all things Bahamian, celebrating the beauty of The Bahamas, all tailored to match the varying personalities of Mickey and his pals."
To complement Mickey and Minnie Mouse's raffia accessories, these outfits feature natural Bahamian straw handiwork, including straw visors, oversized beach hats, and bucket hats on Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Chip and Dale. The cute raffia poms on the dresses, shoes, hat brims, and shoulder straps are also a tribute to this traditional Bahamian craft!
And can we just take a moment to appreciate Daisy Duck's hat and Goofy's socks? Pluto looks absolutely dashing with his stylish collar too!
