Grand Floridian Lobby Transformation Adds a Touch of Fresh Magic

Artist rendering of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa lobby featuring a new Victorian-inspired bar, elegant seating, lush greenery, and a grand piano centerpiece.

Victorian Elegance Meets Modern Magic

Just moments from the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has charmed guests with its Victorian splendor since 1988. Known for its grand style and signature Disney hospitality, the resort is entering a new era with an exciting renovation of its iconic lobby.

A Grand Finale to a Grand Transformation

This lobby refresh marks the final flourish in a multi-year resort-wide refurbishment. Recent updates include upgraded guest rooms, new touches at dining favorites like Victoria & Albert’s, Cítricos, Narcoossee’s, and the beloved return of 1900 Park Fare.

Coming Soon: A New Lobby Bar Experience

The Grand Floridian’s serene ambiance—complete with soft piano melodies, glowing chandeliers, and fragrant florals—is getting an extra dose of charm with a brand-new lobby bar. Inspired by the lobby’s elegant birdcage motif, the bar will feature detailed woodwork, stained glass, and shimmering brass finishes. Expect to spot colorful birds dancing through stained-glass panels and murals throughout the atrium. And yes, the beloved birdcage-style elevator remains in its place.

A Light and Lovely New Look

The lobby, staircase, and front desk are getting a graceful update with garden-inspired elements and a fresh color palette. Think botanical accents, flowing light, and that quintessential Grand Floridian warmth.

Disney Imagineers are preserving the resort’s story while weaving in updated designs, including lush carpeting with hand-drawn floral scrollwork and new furnishings that pair brass details with cozy fabrics and playful, Florida-inspired touches.

Why Stay at the Grand Floridian?

As one of over 25 Disney Resort hotels, the Grand Floridian offers guests unbeatable perks—from proximity to the parks to immersive Disney service delivered by its incredible cast members. Whether celebrating a magical milestone, indulging in gourmet dining, or returning “home” as a Disney Vacation Club Member, the Grand Floridian continues to shine as a one-of-a-kind destination.

Some things never change—like the heartfelt welcome, meticulous detail, and that unmistakable feeling of entering somewhere truly magical.
