Disney Cruise Line has announced exciting updates to its award-winning fleet, including a new class of vessels and the addition of a fourth ship in the Wish class. These ships, slated to debut between 2027 and 2031, will be constructed at the renowned Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with designs crafted by Walt Disney Imagineering.

A Groundbreaking New Ship Class

The new ship class will feature state-of-the-art technology and innovative design to extend Disney Cruise Line’s global reach while supporting its environmental goals. Each vessel will accommodate 3,000 guests and measure approximately 100,000 gross tons. This size places them 20% larger than the Disney Magic class but smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Wish classes, allowing access to more ports and destinations worldwide.

These vessels will deliver Disney's signature entertainment, exceptional dining, renowned guest service, and uniquely Disney experiences to even more families. Delivery is scheduled for 2029, 2030, and 2031.

With advanced engineering, these ships will be among the lightest in their class, saving fuel through a streamlined hull and next-generation propulsion systems. Additional eco-friendly features include energy-efficient systems, innovative design from bow to stern, and a battery system to supplement the main engines.

While in port, the ships will utilize shore power technology, enabling them to “plug in” to a port’s energy grid and turn off their engines. They are also designed to operate on various fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil and renewable methanol, with adaptability for future fuel advancements. This new class aligns with The Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals, incorporating sustainable practices like waste minimization and water conservation.

A Fourth Ship in the Wish Class

In addition to the new ship class, Disney Cruise Line will expand the Wish class with a fourth vessel joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Scheduled for delivery in 2027, this ship will measure approximately 144,000 gross tons, accommodate 4,000 guests, and be powered by eco-friendly liquefied natural gas.

Details about the ship names, onboard experiences, itineraries, and designs are still under development. Stay tuned for more updates as Disney Cruise Line continues to innovate and enchant travelers worldwide.
