Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby Brings Swinging ’60s Style to Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney District has turned the dial to swinging ’60s London. Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby is the newest spot on the scene, bringing Chef Gordon Ramsay’s British comfort-food classics to a restaurant dressed in bold pop-art color, plush details and Brit-pop attitude.
Inspired by London’s Carnaby Street era—when music, fashion and food all arrived with plenty of volume—this British-themed restaurant aims for a lively lunch-and-dinner hangout with a distinctly groovy soundtrack.
London Calling, With a Side of Lunch
The Carnaby channels the cultural rush of 1960s London, pairing bright British pop art with a curated lineup of “British Invasion” hits. The setting includes an expansive outdoor terrace overlooking Downtown Disney District, a back patio, signature booths and a bar ready for a proper gathering.
It is polished without being stuffy, colorful without whispering, and built for everything from a date night to a meal with friends or family. In short: a pub-inspired scene with significantly better lighting than a foggy London alley.
The Headliners on the Plate
Ramsay’s menu puts classic British fare front and center, beginning with Beef Wellington served with potato purée, fresh herb salad and red wine demi. Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips arrives with chips, tartar sauce and mushy peas, while Bangers & Mash brings Cumberland sausage, mashed potatoes and onion jus.
Other familiar favorites include Cottage Pie with beef short rib, potato crust and baby vegetables, plus Sticky Toffee Pudding: warm date cake with ice cream and toffee sauce. That is a greatest-hits lineup with very little room for a bad encore.
The menu also stretches beyond Britain with branzino, chicken Milanese and chickpea tikka masala. Waldorf and Caesar salads, a Wagyu burger, and warm brioche Parker rolls with whipped butter round out the choices.
Make Way for the Prime Rib Cart
One particularly theatrical table-side moment comes courtesy of The Carnaby’s prime rib cart. Hand-carved selections are served with traditional British accompaniments, including Yorkshire pudding, roasted vegetables and au jus.
It is the sort of dinner-cart entrance that knows exactly how to work a room.
Cocktails With a Little London Flourish
Wine and beer join a selection of signature cocktails inspired by London pubs and lounges. The Peach & Basil Old Fashioned mixes Elijah Craig Rye, basil sugar, bitters and peach cotton candy. Cherry Baby combines Ketel One Citroen, St-Germain Elderflower, dragon fruit powder dust and cherry blossom “air.”
For a bubbly finish, the Passionfruit Royale blends Tito’s Handmade Vodka, passionfruit, vanilla and prosecco, topped with a passion fruit bubble. These drinks are meant to be as much of a visual moment as a refreshing one.
Ramsay described 1960s London as a technicolor scene centered on people going out and having fun, saying The Carnaby brings those cool vibes to Downtown Disney District through its interiors, food and music.
Another Big Name Joins Downtown Disney
The Carnaby joins a growing collection of chef-driven dining at Downtown Disney District. Chef Carlos Gaytán is behind Paseo, Céntrico and Tiendita, while Chef Joe Isidori is connected to the upcoming Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ.
For visitors plotting a Disneyland Resort dining stop, Downtown Disney’s culinary lineup just picked up a British accent—and a Beef Wellington worth dressing up for.
