See Holland & Belgium with an Adventures by Disney River Cruise
Adventures by Disney is launching two new travel itineraries to Holland and Belgium, reaffirming its commitment to family travel. Starting in 2025, families can enjoy a delightful river cruise that will immerse them in the rich history and old-world charm of Dutch culture. There will also be an exclusive spring departure that will allow guests to experience the iconic tulip season. Both itineraries offer hands-on activities for the whole family while exploring the historic landmarks, including iconic windmills, canal cruises, art, architecture, and classic food and drink tastings. Guests will also get to visit castles, bike through the countryside, and participate in other activities designed to showcase the area's history and modern-day influence.
The spring tulip sailing will highlight the world-renowned floral beauty and industry of Holland and Belgium, with stops at breathtaking gardens and a tulip farm. These eight-day, seven-night voyages, in collaboration with AmaWaterways, are led by Disney-trained Adventure Guides who take care of every detail and bring the destinations to life through masterful storytelling. Families will enjoy the convenience of unpacking once as the river cruise ship serves as the hotel for the entire trip. Meals and activities are provided, and guests have the option to customize their adventure. Young travelers, or Junior Adventurers, can even choose to spend an evening together on an Adventure Guide-led activity.

Holland and Belgium
The Holland and Belgium regions are situated at or below sea level, and their landscapes have been shaped by centuries of necessity and innovation in response to floods. The areas have been adorned with windmills, canals, dikes, and water stations to support commerce, farming, and residential life. Dutch artists have also had a significant impact on the visual arts for generations.
Both itineraries will start and end in Amsterdam, with visits to several sites and activities, including:
- Touring the windmills at Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to witness the 18th-century structures that represent the origins of water management, industry, and trade.
- Exploring charming cities and castles and cycling along scenic routes. Bicycles will be provided for the bike tours.
- Discovering the past and present of Royal Delft, learning about the pottery and craftsmanship that has been in existence since 1653. Guests will also get a chance to create their own hand-painted tile as a memento.
- Enhancing photography skills through a smartphone workshop.
- Taking a canal cruise through picturesque neighborhoods and discovering the stories behind the historic buildings.
- Visiting the original residence and workshop of Plantin and Moretus publishing, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learning about the technique for sharing words and images dating back to the 1500s. This visit will include a printing press demonstration and a hands-on activity.
- Admiring the art of Peter Paul Rubens, breathtaking stained glass windows, sculptures, and more at Antwerp's Cathedral of Our Lady, whose Gothic-architecture construction began in 1352, and whose belfry is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Enjoying chocolate, cheese, waffles, and beer tastings.

Discovering Holland and Belgium
The traditional Holland and Belgium itinerary covers Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Ghent, Brussels, Antwerp, Kinderdijk, Gouda, and Bruges. The following activities are the highlights of this tour:
- Going on a Pilgrim walking tour in Rotterdam and discovering the city's history and connection to the "New World."
- Experiencing the magic of music at the Utrecht Museum Speelklok.
- Strolling through and admiring the Castle de Haar, the largest castle in the Netherlands.
- Learning about Brussels' expertise in chocolate-making or their influence on comic books through a chocolate-making workshop.
- For adult travelers, Adventures by Disney will offer an adult-exclusive departure for this tour.

The Tulip Tour
The lowlands and climate in Holland make it the perfect place for tulips to flourish. The tulip sailing itinerary will be offered once in April, providing guests with an opportunity to witness the splendor of the blooming season. Tulips are not just a sight to behold; they have also inspired Dutch master artists. During tulip-mania in the 1600s, the bulb was used as a form of economic exchange.
The itinerary for this tour covers Amsterdam, Hoorn, Middelburg, Ghent, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Kinderdijk, and Schoonhoven. The following activities are the highlights of this tour:
- Marveling at the 7 million spring-flowering bulbs and garden art throughout the 79-acre Keukenhof.
- Visiting Hoorn and its vast rows of tulips in every color, as well as touring a tulip farm to learn about the growing process and how bulbs are harvested.
- Exploring the Floralia Flower Show at the Castle of Grand Bigard, which features over 1 million tulip bulbs, and participating in a hands-on Belgian chocolate-making activity.
- Painting an ornamental clog in a traditional design as a souvenir to take home.
