New Details Revealed for Mando and Grogu’s Millennium Falcon Mission

Exciting news for Star Wars fans — a thrilling new adventure featuring Mando and Grogu is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. This highly anticipated update will debut on May 22, 2026, the same day The Mandalorian feature film hits theaters.

A New Mission for Mando and Grogu

Announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, this new adventure brings characters from The Mandalorian to the heart of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. During The Future of World-Building at Disney panel at SXSW, The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau joined Disney Imagineers Leslie Evans and Asa Kalama to reveal more about what’s coming to Batuu.

“One of the cool things about Disney is how we can tell our stories in so many different formats,” Favreau shared. “We’re already taking Mando and Grogu from the TV screen to the movie screen, and at the same time, we’re working with Imagineers to bring this story to the parks, too.”

A Galactic Collaboration

Creating a seamless experience between the film and the attraction required a close partnership between Disney Imagineers and The Mandalorian production team. Imagineers even filmed scenes for the updated attraction on the movie set, meaning guests may encounter some familiar locations while piloting the Falcon — perhaps even a visit to Cloud City.

“This isn’t going to retell what happens in the movie,” Favreau explained. “It’s more like participating in something happening just off-camera from what you see in the film.”

New Droids and Familiar Faces

In addition to the Falcon’s exciting new mission, the popular BDX droids — previously seen in Disneyland — will soon appear at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. These playful droids are also set to make a cameo in The Mandalorian.

To keep those busy droids in top shape, the lovable (and cranky) Anzellan mechanics, introduced in The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian, will be on hand for repairs — just don’t push their patience too far!
