Discover the Magic of EPCOT’s ‘Luminous: The Symphony of Us’
Disney Live Entertainment is all set to launch its latest nighttime spectacular, "Luminous: The Symphony of Us," on December 5 at EPCOT. The show features a dazzling display of fireworks, fountains, lights, and music that aims to connect us all through the commonalities of the heart. The show highlights how our unique melodies come together to form a great symphony - the symphony of us.
Similar to a beautiful piece of music, "Luminous: The Symphony of Us" consists of a series of movements, each representing life experiences that we share, emphasizing how we are more alike than different. The show features two original songs written exclusively for the spectacle, along with new arrangements of popular Disney songs we all know and love.
As the show begins, we hear voices from every pavilion in World Showcase, welcoming us to this great gathering. The first movement starts with the original song "Heartbeat Symphony," a sweeping ballad that sets the tone for the rest of the show.
For an exclusive behind-the-scenes look, check out this video featuring some of the music recording sessions for "Luminous: The Symphony of Us," including a sneak preview of "Heartbeat Symphony."
The symphony begins with a beautiful display of love in parenthood. It features childhood moments that shaped our journeys and a stirring, multilingual arrangement of “You’ll Be in My Heart.” Then, the symphony moves on to “Proud Corazón” to celebrate the bonds of family. The next movement is dedicated to friendship, with classic songs like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and “Friend Like Me” that take us back to the days of recess and friendship bracelets.
The romance movement is set to a sweeping arrangement of “So Close,” which is a favorite hidden gem from Disney’s “Enchanted.” It celebrates those beautiful moments when we find someone with whom our melody blends perfectly.

Loss is an inevitable part of life. However, through songs like "When She Loved Me" and "Remember Me," we are reminded of the presence of others, even in times of quiet loneliness. As the music builds and we emerge from the darkness, "I See the Light" from "Tangled" swells, leading us to the finale of the show and the second original song, "Beating of our Hearts." This song brings us together as one and helps us find our place in the great symphony of life.
Music plays a vital role in telling this story, and Disney Live Entertainment is excited to work with Pinar Toprak once again to create an incredible score. Pinar is known for her work on film soundtracks and her EPCOT anthem, which guests can hear at night by Spaceship Earth. The score features a choir of talented vocalists, including singer/songwriter Sheléa and the multi-talented Katharine McPhee.
We hope this sneak peek has left you as excited as we are to experience this new symphony together when it debuts on December 5th. It's part of the grand finale as we near the completion of the multi-year transformation of EPCOT.
