Hispanic & Latin American Celebration at Walt Disney World
Are you ready to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month at Walt Disney World Resort?
The festivities begin on Sept. 15 and run through Oct. 15, 2023. This year's theme is #TogetherWeAreMagia, and it promises to have more sabor latino than ever before. Even though the celebration is still a month away, we're already getting excited about what's in store.
Mirabel from "Encanto" Joins Magic Kingdom's Year-Round Character Greetings
One of the highlights will be the arrival of Mirabel, a fantastical member of the Familia Madrigal from Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Encanto." Starting on Sept. 15, Mirabel will greet fans from around the world in her magical Casita at Magic Kingdom Park. And the best part? This character greeting will continue beyond Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month and will be available year-round.

Mirabel's uncle, Bruno, is going to be part of the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade at Magic Kingdom soon. Along with Bruno, some other beloved characters like Miguel from "Coco," Princess Elena of Avalor, and José Carioca will make their way throughout the park. We're going to hear a lot about Bruno starting Sept. 15.

Food and Wine Festival Tastes
This year, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is featuring several Hispanic and Latin dishes at Global Marketplaces throughout the park. Some of the recommended dishes include the Charcuterie in a Cup from Spain, the Pão de Queijo from Brazil, and the Guava Cake with whipped cream and coconut from Shimmering Sips Hosted by CORKCICLE.

All of these dishes sound absolutely delicious! The upcoming Disney Eats Foodie Guide will provide a comprehensive list of all the offerings during the Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.
For those looking for even more indulgence, Disney Springs offers the Sweet Mojito Taco and a Guava Ganache Square from The Ganachery. Staying at one of the Disney Resort hotels? Be sure to try the Madrigal magic with Bruno's Vision Cake at The Artist's Palette at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, or at Good's Food to Go at Disney's Old Key West Resort.
There's no shortage of delicious treats to enjoy during a visit to Disney!
Arts and Culture
Hispanic and Latin American cultures are known for their vibrant and diverse art forms, ranging from paintings and pottery to film and graphics. Each country has its own unique style that contributes to the rich tapestry of art found throughout the region.
This September, the Disney Springs Art Walk will showcase TRATOS, a talented Cuban couple hailing from Miami. Meanwhile, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Guests can learn to draw Dante from Disney/Pixar's “Coco” and hear about a featured Hispanic animator at Animation Experience. And if you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, don't miss the chance to enjoy Movies Under the Stars, featuring films inspired by Latin America like “Encanto” and “Coco” on select nights throughout the month.
And More!

The excitement at Disney Springs doesn't stop in October! You'll find a variety of Hispanic-owned specialty shops and eateries to explore, from dining at Jaleo by José Andrés to browsing Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers. You'll also find merchandise that pays homage to Disney's Hispanic and Latin American-inspired characters.
If you're using Walt Disney World transportation, be sure to check out the Skyliner to glide alongside the Familia Madrigal or hop on a bus with Miguel. Characters will be added to the exteriors of the vehicles year-round for an extra sprinkle of pixie dust!
For those who love shopping, new merchandise will arrive in time for the festivities, with items from beloved films like Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” and Disney Animation’s “Encanto” for the celebration and beyond.
