Introduction to Virtual Queue
Using Virtual Queues at Walt Disney World Resort
Reserve your place in line and enjoy other attractions while you wait. It's that easy.
What is a Virtual Queue?
From time to time, popular attractions may utilize a virtual queue so that guests can enjoy other experiences while they wait. When the virtual queue is in place, a standby queue will not be available, and Guests must use the My Disney Experience app to enter the attraction or experience.

It's Complimentary
There is no cost associated with joining a virtual queue.
Select Attractions Participate
Participating attractions vary but have included Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Rise of the Resistance, and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Please check with your Travel Advisor to confirm which virtual queues may be operating during your stay.
Based on Availabilty
Virtual queues are first come, first served (and can be gone in a flash). Read our tips below to help increase your odds of obtaining a coveted spot in the virtual queue.
Park Reservations are Required
Guests must have a Park Reservation for the park where they are requesting to join the virtual queue.
Join at 7AM and 1PM
Guests can join the virtual queue at 7:00am ET or 1:00pm ET. Note: Guests must be inside the park to join a virtual queue at 1:00pm. Guests staying at a Deluxe / Deluxe Villa Resort have the opportunity to request to join the virtual queue at 6:00pm ET. Note: Deluxe / Deluxe Villa Resort guests are not required to be in the park to request to join a virtual queue. Read more below.
The Fine Print
- Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to participate in the experience.
- Each Guest can enter the virtual queue for a given experience no more than once per day (based on availability).
- Boarding groups for a virtual queue are limited, subject to availability, and are not guaranteed.
- Not all boarding groups may be called to return, based on availability of the experience.
- If more than one experience is using a virtual queue, guests will need to enter those virtual queues one at a time.

Important!
On occasion, select attractions may offer both virtual queue (free) or Individual Lightning Lane (cost associated). Both options will offer access to the queue (based on availability, of course). However, the Individual Lightning Lane option affords guests the opportunity to select a return time. Keep this in mind as you weigh and compare the options.
TRON Lightcycle / Run Tip
For TRON Lightcycle / Run, you must have a Park Reservation at Magic Kingdom in order to make a virtual queue selection. For Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, you must have a Park Reservation at EPCOT in order to make a virtual queue selection. For Rise of the Resistance, you must have a Park Reservation at Disney's Hollywood Studios to make a virtual queue selection. If you are Park Hopping and you have a reservation in another park, the soonest you will be able to hop to EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Magic Kingdom will be 2pm. Because of this you will not be able to select a virtual queue at 7am or 1pm. Instead, plan to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane (based on availability) for any time after 2pm.
