Start those engines: Piston Peak National Park is bringing two Cars attractions to Magic Kingdom, and this is no gentle Sunday drive.

New D23 details have revealed a rugged, national-park-inspired setting for Piston Peak, where racers will tackle snowy peaks, geysers and a demolition derby hosted by the one and only Miss Fritter. The destination is part of the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history.

Miss Fritter Is Ready to Wreck the Place

The newly announced second attraction is Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along, inspired by the “Diva of Demolition” from Cars 3.

Miss Fritter will appear as a school-bus-sized animatronic, presiding over what Disney calls her wildest demolition derby yet: a stampeding bash with plenty of room for the rowdy charm expected from the former school bus.

Race Up the Mountain, Then Hang On

Piston Peak’s previously announced headliner, Cars Ridge Run Rally, sends racers into the rugged beauty of America’s national parks—and all the way up Piston Peak itself. At the summit, an icy, snow-covered mountaintop waits before the course takes a sharp turn downhill.

Racers will plunge through a camelback descent, weave through an energetic geyser field and circle Old Tankfull geyser before sprinting toward the finish. Lightning McQueen and Mater will cover the race live for Racing Sports Network, because a proper finish line deserves proper commentary.

An Off-Road Ride That Means Business

Cars Ridge Run Rally is set to debut an entirely new ride vehicle built not merely to imitate an off-road car, but to be one. Its tires and suspension will physically travel over—and react to—the course’s bumps, drops and rocks.

That means the terrain is not just scenic window dressing. Every rocky wobble is part of the rally.

A New Stop on Frontierland’s Journey West

Piston Peak National Park is designed to continue the storytelling path that has connected Liberty Square and Frontierland since Magic Kingdom opened. The journey moves from the upstate New York and colonial American influences of Liberty Square through the North Woods, New Orleans at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the Arizona bluffs surrounding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Piston Peak takes that westward trip into a fictional wilderness inspired by the Rocky Mountain region, the American Frontier and the country’s national parks. Expect towering trees, snowcapped mountains, waterfalls, rivers and geysers—plus plenty of cars determined to become the wildest racers in the “wheelderness.”

Parkitecture Meets Pixar

Inside Piston Peak, the Cars universe will take shape through a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more. Imagineers are using “Parkitecture,” an architectural style developed by the National Park Service to help buildings blend naturally with their surroundings.

The landscape is also meant to create a thoughtful transition within Magic Kingdom. Trees will form a natural barrier between the off-road rally and neighboring areas of Frontierland and Liberty Square, while rugged peaks rise beside a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall. Geysers extending from the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad area will continue into the rally’s trails, tying this new national park into the scenery already on the horizon.
