The doors of Casita are about to swing open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park—and this particular house has far more personality than most real-estate listings.
At the “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” presentation during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa, Disney shared new details about the Encanto attraction coming to Tropical Americas at Walt Disney World Resort. The ride now has an official name: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto.
A Fiesta Inside Casita
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto takes place on Antonio’s gift day, when the Madrigal family gathers to celebrate his ability to communicate with animals. The adventure carries a fittingly warm message: every creature belongs to the familia, special gift or no special gift required.
Jared Bush, Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation Studios and the writer and director of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto, shared that the attraction expands the Madrigal home beyond what appeared in the film. Casita is getting a few new rooms—and, naturally, they are not expected to behave like ordinary rooms.
The Furniture Has a Job to Do
After entering Casita, riders will board vehicles inspired by the pieces of furniture brought to life by the house itself. Those lively vehicles will carry guests through the home as the celebration unfolds, reacting to the scenes around them like characters in their own right.
The journey eventually reaches Antonio’s upstairs room, transformed into a lush rainforest packed with animals of every shape and size. More than 50 animals will appear inside the attraction, including a capybara getting a hair trim, plus a toucan and a donkey. Best of all for families building a full-crew Animal Kingdom day: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will have no height requirement.
Familiar Voices, Carefully Researched Creatures
Several voices from the film are returning to Casita: Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, Jessica Darrow as Luisa and Diane Guerrero as Isabella.
Disney Imagineering also worked with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team to ensure the attraction’s animals are accurate to Colombia. That attention follows an Imagineering research trip to Colombia, where the team studied how the region’s colors, materials and structures connect with its climate, terrain and culture. The rainforest may be indoors, but the homework was decidedly not phoned in.
A Carousel Joins the Tropical Americas Lineup
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto is only one piece of the new Tropical Americas land, first announced during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024. The land celebrates the myths and magic of the rainforest, with construction now taking shape.
Its animal-themed carousel has also received an official name: El Carrusel de los Animalitos. The gentle attraction will include 22 hand-carved animal figures inspired by beloved Disney and Pixar stories, giving Animal Kingdom’s spin on a classic Disney carousel its own wild little twist.
Indiana Jones, a Hacienda and a Little Dig Site
Tropical Americas will also be home to Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, an all-new adventure for travelers ready to trade singing furniture for a little archaeological peril.
Food and beverage plans are still being finalized, but the land will include a large hacienda that is set to be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort. Plans also call for souvenir-shopping locations and a Maya-inspired play area where young explorers can unearth artifacts through hands-on play.
