The Beak and Barrel: New Pirate Tavern Coming to Magic Kingdom
The Beak and Barrel: Sneak Peek Inside the New Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern
Adventure is brewing in Adventureland at Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom Park, where The Beak and Barrel is set to open later this year! Founded by the legendary pirate rumrunner Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her feathered first mate Rummy, this lively tavern invites pirates, rogues, and buccaneers of all ages to gather for tall tales and toast-worthy treasures.

Say Ahoy to Rummy
Rummy, the ever-watchful first mate, keeps things in ship-shape from his perch high above the bar. Though retired from sailing the high seas, this spirited parrot still leads the crew in lively toasts and storytelling. Disney fans may recognize Rummy as a nod to the original Barker Bird who once welcomed guests to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Step Inside “The Mess”
At the heart of The Beak and Barrel lies The Mess, a grand hall that once served Spanish soldiers. Long tables fill the room, perfect for gathering with fellow pirates under a massive anchor dripping with candle wax.
An impressive bar lines one side, crafted from pieces of a cursed shipwreck. Here, a skull-shaped stern showcases grogs and brews, including the Enchanted Rum Bottle, gifted to Merry by Tia Dalma. Keep an eye out for Rummy patrolling the bar, always ready to entertain the crew.
Discover the Captains’ Quarters
In the Captains’ Quarters, pirates can experience a touch of luxury in what was once the Spanish Comandante’s private chambers. Though time and pirate antics have left their mark on the fine décor, tales still swirl about the five glass ship bottles mounted above the fireplace. Legend has it these tiny vessels represent pirate alliances and are known to spring to life in miniature battles.
More Treasures Await
There’s still much more to uncover at The Beak and Barrel, so keep watch for more updates, including the opening date and a sneak peek at the tavern’s sea-worthy menu of bites and brews for pirates of all ages.
